Foundation Day
Spent the day making foundation blocks from a kit I bought last year from the Houston Quilt festival. I am a halloween lover so I thought this would make a great Halloween tablerunner.
The kit including pattern, foundations and all the fabric was $20 us, great value. Now all I have to do is tear all the tiny bits of foundation out.
My name is Robyn Ahern and I have been involved with patchwork and quilting for over twenty years. I was introduced to the craft in the late 1980’s and have been obsessed ever since.
My early quilts were very country in flavour although my tastes have evolved and I could be working on an intricately hand-pieced quilt in reproduction fabrics at the same time as preparing a machine-made bright funky kid’s quilt.
I was the editor of Patchwork and Stitching magazine for four years and during this time was immersed in the craft world. Quilting has been very rewarding for me and I have made many life long friendships over the years. I am currently dabbling in different crafts including punch needle and hook rugs but spend most of my time designing quilts.
